    a variation on the same tired take. I’m surprised he has the view that if you pour your heart and pain into art, people will give a shit. they don’t.

        the take is tired because it assumes people give a shit about real art and not lowest common denominator bullshit, which has been wrong since audiences existed.

            Really? I want to know how exactly companies have been getting away with mass media slop since the invention of the radio is “the minority [opinion] by a huge margin”.

            Because people don’t give a shit about real art, and love the lowest common denominator bullshit. I want to hear how that’s incorrect.

              People in power get away with all sorts of heinous shit that the majority don’t like or want, capitalism pushes cheap shit because it can, most people prefer quality when they’re offered better alternatives
