I found these unique items labelled “bols” which I think is French for “bowls”. They came with a strangely-shaped key, but it doesn’t help, I can’t see how to use these items as bowls?

Why not both? We can both have a good time! Anyway, I thought something along those lines when I bought this, worst case, it’s a “kinetic sculpture” I can put somewhere for guests to marvel at and play with. Take the Goodwill sticker off and put Louis Vuitton and suddenly all the kids will want one.
If I can’t make another key, it’s risky to put a very strong deadbolt on my door!
If you can’t get a professional to make one, you could always go full DIY mode.
