They have to like basements as much as I do
What
patience
I would say piety.
Wit
A sense of humor.
Being comfortable around them.
I chose my wife in large part for her honesty. It’s much easier to teach a brutally honest person to be more tactful than to teach a dishonest person to be honest.
Empathy
I want to be called out.
I love philosophy stuff and often I’ll start to form an opinion that’s a scientific or even problematic.
My lovely fiancé will often call out potentially shitty thoughts and I re-evaluate them.
Emotional maturity and financial responsibility
willing to have calm debates and willingness to reevaluate ones stands on a matter.
This. We all grew up a certain way and like things a certain way. Lots of discontent can come from sharing a life with someone if you’re not will to reevaluate your new normal.
They can make me laugh. My wife is the funniest person I know.
The ability to kill a yak from 200 yards away
With mind bullets?
That’s telekinesis, Kyle
How bout the power of flight, that do anything for ya?
How about the power… to move you?
Isn’t this a physical trait though?
… with mind bullets!
You DO NOT want this. I made this mistake. I thought my partner could only do yaks. I was WRONG. I now have to stay 200 yards from them at all times or risk my own life.
You mean 201 yards away!
Oh no. I do. I hope my partner didn’t realize my mistake.
Compassion.
Some of us need understanding from magnanimous people.
Trust/Honesty
You can’t build anything lasting on lies.
