    This is nothing new. Escudero was always considered the “poorest” senator and his net worth fluctuated between 5-8 million pesos since 2007. You can see this reflected on his SALN from 2013, 2015, 2016, and now (possibly due to inflation) it’s 18 million.

    So the question is, who exactly audits these SALNs to verify if it’s accurate? Or it’s dependent on your personal interpretation of what constitutes as assets? Should Heart’s jewelry be included in his SALN? Supposedly dapat, but idk there may be legalese here that I’m missing. Sa mga cars pa lang kasi duda na ako. He drives a Mercedes G Wagon and even has a Landcruiser ferrying his children.

      Except for a few, most of the senators’ SALNs are just window dressing, in that they have slick lawyers and accountants capable of hiding most of their hidden wealth and cooking the books. That it is no secret they use dummy companies and proxies to shield themselves from scrutiny.
