Aussie Aussie Aussie! Hoy hoy hoy!
The shooter had a gun license and five firearms and somehow it’s our fault? ROTFLMAO

Fun fact: Sec. Dizon already did the same walk last May with the exact same group (Move as One) and had the exact same comments. I don’t know why he’s reacting like it’s the first time he’s seen it, lmao.

Not surprised because he was sending feelers since September (and blind item pa nga yung isa) that the group is a joke.
And it’s true. Refusal to live stream, executive sessions granted upon request, easy questions, and they only target those not in good graces with the admin. This isn’t any different from when Duterte and his cronies went after critiques and the same under P-Noy. We only like it because those being railroaded are guys we hate to begin with.

Not just mass media. Even “enlightened” pinoys on FB, Reddit, and Twitter post inconveniences in the country and prop up Japan as not having those problems which contributes to the mythologization of immigration and the age-old “MaG-AbRoAd Ka Na” ethos.
I’m not sure if I mentioned this here already but within just an hour of being in Japan, I’ve already seen littering (by locals, not tourists) and they no longer teach escalator etiquette there (the PA announcer even warns people not to walk on the escalator). I also rarely see babies and their workforce is disturbingly old.
Also, the relatively affordable food and goods means the yen is weak, which is good for us but bad for them.

Japan is a great place to be in as a tourist. Easily the best of the first-world countries I’ve visited.
But working and living there is another thing. If you have real talk with people scrapping there — not the type of conversations you have with families and friends wherein everyone tries to conceal the truth — it’s… not so great.

Tried to hook up GCash to my Google Wallet. It says they only accept MasterCard… except GCash ditched MC to go with Visa two years ago.
Used to listen to NU107 from 1996 until they went off the air in 2011. Then Jam 88.3 after that until I stopped listening to the radio entirely since I stopped working in an office. I love those stations because the playlist is a lot more diverse than others. They play metal, indie, electronic, alternative, and some mainstream.

That’s true, but Kakampinks seem to think they’re an exception to this (found this at a Kakampink page actually lol) when it very well applies to them the most. “Hindi para sa amin ang boto na ito, para sa inyo ito” was their motto in 2022 after all, then became “dasurb 16 million” 48 hours after the elections, lmao.

This is the logical conclusion — but there’s like thousands of wealthy people around the world with plausible access to the same resources but they barely even get to 80. It’s only when Enrile was around 99 when he avoided the public eye and showed signs that he’s going to croak.

I usually censor names but this is clearly a throwaway account so didn’t bother doing so.
Anyway, sharing lang yung fan mail (comment actually) na nakuha ko a few days ago.
Unang una, wala ako paki sa lost media. To me, anything old has value and a story to tell. Sa kakahanap niyo ng lost media, dami niyo nami-miss na mga important resources. Hindi magpapakita sayo hinahanap mo with a VHS label advertising its contents. Often times it’s going to be on a discarded pile of laserdisc-copied tapes. So please lang, don’t lump me in with these people who call themselves lost media hunters.
Secondly, paulit ulit na kayo putak ng putak na I gatekeep or refuse to make something available. Where’s your proof? Pero sige, tutal that’s what you want then that’s what you’ll have. If ever I do find EB, I’m going to solicit donations before it will be uploaded. I’m not “profiting” from it because the funds will just go to procuring better equipment (a frame TBC). So balls on your court.

I don’t want to be a stick in the mud but people joking about him still being alive should instead focus on how he lived up to 100+ while being generally healthy.
Most of my friends died in their late 20s, mid-30s due to a lot of factors — whether drinking and partying in their youth then developing a disease as a result, or being sexually active without getting tested. And stats do show that the older gen-Zs and millennials are dying very early. My dad is 80+ already but he still does shit like he’s 60 and he’s not exactly some fitness nut.
Edit: And just when I posted this, I saw the news that he passed away already.
I’m in Metro Manila. The winds are strong but tolerable. Rain isn’t that heavy or frequent too. It’s a little sunny at times today compared to yesterday afternoon. All in all it’s not that bad. We were able to attend a birthday party yesterday and accept deliveries today.
The worst weather disturbance this year that I’ve personally experienced was that 1hr rain in September that dumped 5hrs worth of rain that affected our city exclusively. First time our house got flooded ever, not even during Ondoy.

We loved doing this in the classroom to kill time. I never did quite get the rules because you could just build an elaborate base filled with hundreds of guns so your opponent will need to work a lot harder destroying them.
But this game was only a thing for about a year or two then kids eventually moved on to something new. I only remembered it after seeing this drawing, tbh.

This reminds me of when Bagong Hari was lost for decades because the disappointed producer chucked the master reel into the Pasig River. It was then discovered in a garage sale (a betamax recording).

Grabe yung baha diyan sa Cebu. First time I’ve seen cars floating around and wild animals escaping.

Michelin stars are the restaurant equivalent of Beckett card grading. It’s a joke, lmao.
The best steak I’ve ever eaten was in a restaurant in Takayama that served A5 hida beef for just 1.2k pesos. They don’t have a Yelp rating and nobody talks about hida beef as much as Kobe or Matsusaka or the piece of crap derivatives from Australia.

This is nothing new. Escudero was always considered the “poorest” senator and his net worth fluctuated between 5-8 million pesos since 2007. You can see this reflected on his SALN from 2013, 2015, 2016, and now (possibly due to inflation) it’s 18 million.
So the question is, who exactly audits these SALNs to verify if it’s accurate? Or it’s dependent on your personal interpretation of what constitutes as assets? Should Heart’s jewelry be included in his SALN? Supposedly dapat, but idk there may be legalese here that I’m missing. Sa mga cars pa lang kasi duda na ako. He drives a Mercedes G Wagon and even has a Landcruiser ferrying his children.

In the movie, he kept on harping about “independencia” to the point that it’s just a buzz word to pander to Filipinos — not because he actually believes or wants it. So in a way, it conjures images of “MAGA” or “Change is coming”. Ewan ko lang if that’s how the real Quezon treated independence, we’ll never know. Hindi rin naman explicitly portrayed yan, that’s just how it struck me.
Avanceña also complained that the movie was pro-America, which isn’t exactly true. Leonard Wood was against granting us independence because, from his observations, we weren’t ready for it yet. Filipinos didn’t understand what it meant and our politicos are too corrupt. Hindi lang naman si Leonard nagsabi niyan. Fucking Jose Rizal said the same shit, lmao. Of course, Wood, from what I’ve read, wasn’t a stand-up guy either but that doesn’t make his opinion wrong.
The funny thing is (or maybe sad) is that when they reallocated the DPWH budget because of the flood control mess, they just transferred most of it to Philhealth who’s just as corrupt if not worse.
Which circles back to the argument about what makes capitalism bad. In the end, it’s the ones on top who gets to decide how the money is spent. It’s not automatically going to help the poor. It’s the same reason why I just facepalm hard when people would say we need nuclear power because our electricity is expensive. The only plus there is that we’d have less brownouts, but electric costs are going to be roughly the same.
