They live in areas that are covered by snow for at least part of the year, such as the Himalayas, Tibet and parts of Central Asia and Mongolia. The animal itself can vary in colour from cream to grey or tan.

Many animals that live in temperate climates change colors every year.
It’s not the case of this one. I just wanted to point that many do :)
(Now, seriously, gray and white are probably a very good disguise in places where the snow doesn’t take over everything all the time.)

And ESPECIALLY without JPG compression™Yeah, and the scale of the picture itself is hard to determine. You don’t know how big the thing you’re looking at is, so you don’t know if you’re supposed to see just a paw, the entire creature, etc.

Also, while impressive, I find this, if taken in the context of a test about a species’ ability to camouflage, as not very realistic idk about other species but human eyes primarily work woth contrast and movement. So much so, that the moving dot that will be the leopard will be caught by our peripheral vision just as easily as a pink panther.
Hint: Don’t look in the snow for something white.
