They don’t need the Americans or Israelis to destroy their country. They’re very good at doing that themselves.

For a country battered by sanctions Iran is actually doing pretty well for itself, so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

Even assuming that’s true*, that’s not the same as “destroying their country.”

*I’m not sure how much Iranian gender laws affect women’s daily life there.

Within the last few years they had such significant protests in response to a woman who died in police custody that they had to pardon 20k people imprisoned in relation to them and 80k people facing charges. Then they strengthened the laws around the cause for the arrest. That’s not what a functional country does when its people are unhappy.

Authoritarianism ≠ “destroying their country.” That’s exactly what an authoritarian state does when its people are unhappy.

Extremely. My ex partner had to spend her first 20 years in that godforsaken country. She told me after 4 years of living outside of Iran that in case she has to move back, she’d rather off herself.

Every Iranian Woman I’ve met over the years echoed similar experiences: Making sure the veil sits correctly, lest you get beaten; knowing, that your voice in court is just half that of a man; knowing that your husband can prevent you from working at any time. Every time you interact with the state, you get reminded that you are a second class citizen.

They’re destroying their own water supply because of mismanagement and corruption. Last time i checked, living without water is kind of hard.

Yeah that’s a fair point. Seems climate change has a lot to do with it though, so this is more of a joint venture.
