Anyone here ex forces? Is it true they REALLY hate people like this?
If it’s someone claiming for ‘fame’ or to brag I generally laugh. But if they are trying to claim it to get something free or discounted it’s annoying. I’ve never really gotten upset about it.
I compare it to people that claim to be handicap. Sure, whatever you want to say, doesn’t really bother me. But if you park in the handicap places and you are a healthy 25 year old driving your grandma’s car, but you park there because you can. Come on man…
I served but didn’t retire. VA loans and parking spots and 10% discount at Lowe’s (on some things, now) are the only things I get for my service—besides the memories. I get seriously annoyed when someone takes my spot.

Just depends on the situation I’d imagine. Using a fake rank to scam ppl would piss anyone off.
