The Democrats pretending like illegal immigration was an issue to take seriously and deporting more people than the Republicans never won them an ounce of support from the real racist base. We could probably curb most illegal immigration by imposing harsh penalties for anyone found employing people illegally, but no one’s ever gonna go after the owner class. Not that I think it’s desirable to have fewer immigrants mind you.
