I’ve seen a few. IGORRR is particularly egregious. I’m just going to watch a bit of Chris Cunningham’s work to cleanse my mind, I think.
Mine much worse, my cousins watched entire hour of AI-generated commentary shows about animal’s tomfoolery, with outdated jokes from bad dubbing voiceover
Yes. I hate when I’m trying to enjoy my lunch and there’s a TV on nearby.
Try TV-B-Gone.
Apply directly to the forehead!
Unfortunately, even mainstream artists known for their inventive artistry and who have even written previous songs about machinery vs. individual expression have turned to AI generated music videos. Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel both seem to have forgotten the points of their previous works “Welcome to the Machine” and “The Tower That Ate People”, respectively. There’s a difference between finding a new tool to work with vs. passing the buck of creation to a tool.
As for businesses playing things over their TV or radio, I haven’t seen AI music videos in particular. I’ve suffered through overly poppy hits (holiday-themed and otherwise) and extremely loud network shows though. I think a lot of businesses (or at least their corporate managers) don’t care if what plays on their locations’ TVs or radio is good so long as it is inoffensive, which is why sports are often on businesses’ TVs. I think people also like having some ambient stimuli, which is why Windows’ classic 3D pipes screensaver is still referenced today; while I would think the pathing for this screensaver is “AI”, it’s not a substitute for human expression but rather is a visual stimulus in the vein of a lava lamp.
My town has the sweetest little cafe in town, with two tvs on a constant rotation of Italian landscapes overlaid by music.
At this point it’s almost a matter of time until one of those channels starts using it.
Who even makes music videos these days and where are they shown? When i was young mtv was a thing but now i figured people dropped it altogether.
This is why I have a flipper zero with a big ass ir blaster attachment from rabbit labs.
Was at a store. There was a hip hop track talking about inconveniences like losing keys and auto-correct. I thought that was clever and interesting. Looked it up later, and first it was cool. Then, I noticed every song had the same format ofr the chorus. Looked at the description and it said AI used in generation.
Totally ruins it for me. I thought this was an interesting take on music.A reason why I carefuly select the places I will spend time at… Which is becoming difficult as so many places now seem to think it is a requirment to have a tv or some audio system that will constantly and loudly play music or worse, news.
AI generated or not, I hate that as I want to be able to have a calm conversation when I’m not alone, or to be able to read or to write when I’m alone ;)
