    Flat feet are mostly a combination of weight and foot musculature, afaik. Ancient people were generally shorter and therefore lighter, and they walked a lot more than we do. It was probably an issue for some people, but not nearly as many as today

      I also seem to recall it being arches, FWIW.

      You know, one thing I do as a TT (table tennis) exercise is to walk around my place barefoot, almost always on the balls of my feet. It’s incidentally been quite useful for my flat feet. If I was an ancient person I could see myself doing it outdoors, too.
