    What, like She-Hulk or Wanda?

Imperfections are hardly a new theme for female superheroes.

I mean, if we’re going off a geological time frame, sure. But Age of Ultron came out ten years ago (Wanda’s introduction) and She-Hulk is at least a few years old at this point.

Which is just their MCU variants, there’ve been flawed female superheroes in other media for a long time. Definitely nowhere near a new concept.

Maybe it’s a new concept for him, considering what he turned Gamora into? Hard to say.

“Finally” implies he thinks he is the very first to do it.

Is it weird that James Gunn picked an actress that could be the sister of the actor he cast for Adam Warlock?

“Finally” implies he thinks he is the very first to do it.

No it doesn’t. It can also mean that, given those other projects, he feels he’s also able to have a flawed woman character…

Added Gunn from the stage. “So many times female superheroes are so perfect. She’s not that at all.”

He specifically refers to female superheroes being forced to be perfect.

We’re doing it at last, folks. We’re finally making a funny white lady with superpowers. Everyone book your tickets in advance. We just cast Melissa McCarthy in the leading role.

Jesus, what a terrible headline. Bro took “So many times female superheroes are so perfect. She’s not that at all.” and went FINALLY AN IMPERFECT FEEMALE SUPERHERO, THIS WAS NEVER ALLOWED. The writing is awful, too. Just trying way too hard to be quirky or “irreverent” or wtf ever buzzword bullshit they try to pull these days. Really has that gross pick-me faux-feminist “men bad” vibe.
