You don’t know my schedule, you can’t just make assumptions and then get upset when it turns out I may have other engagements. You might even be calling at a time when I already had something else explicitly scheduled!

Scheduling is how you can be certain that the person will be available at the scheduled time. If you don’t schedule, then you don’t know if they will be available, and so you have no grounds to get mad at them for not being available.

Phone call is the quickest and the most straightforward mean of communication. Assertion that these have to be “scheduled” is ridiculous.
