I medically transitioned nearly 15 years ago and my parents still won’t use correct pronouns for me, at this point they just look like they’re going senile. But they live in Florida and rural bumfuck NH in the summers so I haven’t seen them in person in like five years.
I was supposed to call today, but my mom hasn’t responded to my text yet so fuck em.

I’ve been out for almost 2 years now and my mother is still saying: “I need time to mourn because my son is dead.”
If you squint it’s almost like she’s saying “I have no son” in complete acceptance
I’m thinking those shock collars would also be great.
Though there’d probably be some small account of kidnapping etc and then some other plan to force the collars on their necks etc.
However once these small wrinkles are taken care of then I can guarantee that a few zaps from those collars will sort it out quick sharp.(Alternatively, and boringly, just don’t go to family get togethers until they learn to not be twats. I still think the shock collar is better.)

Deadnaming is the act of calling a transgender or non-binary person by their birth name or other former forename (their ‘deadname’) after they have chosen a new name. Many transgender people change names as part of gender transition, and wish for their former name to be kept private.
I just learned about this phrase and had to wonder why it would continue all night. Then I realized the likely hostile holidays with family and my heart sank… I feel so sorry for you. I hope you have someone to lean on. I’d bite the head off of anyone who deadnamed maliciously.
