As studies of this type go, this one is bloody well robust with a ten-year follow-up. Important to note that screen time today is far longer on average than it was when this study was initiated. There is also a growing body of evidence to support this study in children, plus studies showing similar in young adults and adults, albeit more behavioural rather than developmental.
I wonder if some screen time is worse than others. YouTube slop is probably really bad, but an ebook maybe less bad?
I don’t see how an ebook would be any different from a paper book in that regard if it’s actually just reading.
