First off…there’s various iterations of Superwoman. Whether she’s wearing a short skirt or barely covering her nipples…the difference is a little more obvious than some weird generic hero.

But having tight clothes showing off ideal muscles isn’t the same level of sexualization as having tight clothes showing off a models body and skin.

Comic book women are for straight men, and comic book men are for gay men (and the gayness within us all).

If comics were written for women they wouldn’t resemble any of this bullshit.

Uh huh… Even threw in some vintage books in there.

The person before you posted pictures of comics written for women that contain this bullshit. It’s an exact answer to your statement. How is this “pretty far afaild from the topic”?

Did you forget your claim or the topic we were talking about?

Have you ever seen the inside of a romantic fiction book written for women? They are just as full of this kind of bullshit, just with a lot more overt sex.

If comics were written for women they wouldn’t resemble any of this bullshit.

Media created for women contains exactly this kind of bullshit, so why would comics written for women be an exception?

In fact, comics written for women contain exactly this kind of bullshit.

      How different are they?

Women advertise themselves having big boobs, promising enough breast milk to offsprings so that more men will accept them as partners.

Men advertise themselves having great strength thus having better protection over women and their offsprings when predators come.

Suck it up. If not for our own lust, it’s just animal nature to select partners. Stop the moral standard or social etiquette bullshit.

Umm…no. Sounds like you went to the Jordan Peterson school of anthropology.

Suck it up? No thanks. I live in society that sexualizes teenaged girls and I’ll never accept it…glad you feel like it’s ok to be a bully again.

That would have been an actual comparison. But let’s be honest, men don’t care that he-man is a slut we just look at that and go “goals”.

Its my favorite fact that absolutely no woman has ever fantasized about the hyper muscular super hero bods.

And in fact, I had no idea this comic artist was a man until this moment lol

I agree with the sentiment but “Absolutely no woman has ever fantasized” about that?

Do you really believe that? If not, why use these words? I don’t think it serves your purpose and it’s too bad.

Don’t hate me please. I’m just talking semantics which are important to me

So did you! Pretty sure you’re right about the artist being a dude for the reason you mentioned.
Thanks for giving my point a thought.

On the other hand, women’s media is also full of that stuff. Maybe not Schwarzenegger style extreme bodybuilding, but look at a women’s magazine or the covers of romantic fiction books made for women. Both men and women in these types of media are overly fit and overly sexualized too.

I don’t think it’s specifically a gendered thing that there are people who like to look at that kind of stuff and people who reject it.

That’s not a woman’s reaction to that superman poster, that’s a man’s lol. Remember that post of a bodybuilder before and after with men losing their minds that women were saying they preferred the before?

Disappointed she’s not bitching at a lesbian, but whatev’s

What I don’t get is how I’m getting posts by someone that’s Banned in my feed. Last time I tried interacting with one of these posts, it was deleted after a comment thread went overlong or something, I’m not sure.

    Good stuff.

A better choice in art would have been comparing spider woman and spider man, as they both do the same poses and have more similar costumes.

The Brightest Day / Blackest Night books were some of the most interesting comics I had read in years.
