      MTV started in 1981
      The Real World first aired in 1992
      Jackass came around 2000

      While MTV didn’t create reality TV, they played a major role in dumbing it down to make it appealing to the dumbest of our population- which are many.

      Also, NONE of what you mentioned is older than MTV.
