Well yeah, they were already invaded by russia at that point, that’s why we’re pissed, because of russias colonial ambitions and the cost of all the lives lost

If that’s the case you want to make, regardless of not painting the full picture, the russian invasion of Ukraine is the cause of the highest drop of Ukrainians. Also the pretext of “im invading to save you” is entirely bullshit.

I’m not defending the invasion of Ukraine, I’m saying it happened primarily because of western meddling in Russia’s sphere of influence.

You condemned the USSR too, and I’m explaining you how capitalism is the greatest tragedy that happened to Ukraine. Without capitalism, Russia and Ukraine would still be sister nations, no war would have happened.

And im explaining how the greatest tragedy that’s happened to Ukraine (recently) is russias invasion. Maybe there is a reason countries wanted to leave the USSR. It wouldn’t be sister nations, it would be occupiers and subservient nation. There is nothing sisterly about russias, or the USSRs invasions of neighbouring countries. If they have to keep their sphere of influence via violence then they are to blame.

Maybe there is a reason countries wanted to leave the USSR

Some did, such as the Baltics, which is why they sabotaged the 1990 referendum. 70% of Ukraine in the 1990 referendum voted for the continuation of the USSR. The reality is that people were lied to. They were promised peace and prosperity, and Ukraine especially has enjoyed neither of those.

There is nothing sisterly about russias, or the USSRs invasions of neighbouring countries

I thought I had explained you carefully in the long comment I sent you about the USSR saving Europe from Fascism. You had agreed to read it carefully. Are you just ignoring the evidence that points against what you say?

You’re ignoring the catastrophe that caused 10 million in population losses between 1990 and 2022 because it’s not convenient to you

If they have to keep their sphere of influence via violence then they are to blame

People keep blaming China for maintaining its sphere of influence even if it hasn’t entered a war in 45 years. Do you support China maintaining and expanding its sphere of influence through economic means as it’s doing?
