We could start with the violent history of union formation. I only got like one line in an elementary school textbook telling me the pinkertons existed and that was it. Then we can move on to the violent bombing of Tulsa, OK which nobody talks about.

Syria is not in the global south, but if you’re referring to the part they played in the revolution and the disproportionate consequences of the war then that’s been well documented in the west and there a good speech about that in the UN. It is so unfortunate that as soon as they had finally deposed Assad that they lose the majority of US support including USAID and also are set upon by groups like ISIS, yet another thing we can blame the Trump admin for.

While I know Trump has a history of shady dealings in Africa and that China is working their way into the region, I’m unaware of any specific examples of what you mean. Can you please be more specific than just pointing at a continent?

The Congo has been embroiled in conflict and puppet wars for over 60 years. But at least part of it is in the southern hemisphere.

Maduro is a dictator piece of shit, but even with that said, what the Trump admin did was illegal and I would very much like to see justice over it.

Syria is absolutely part of the global south. you know the global south is primarily about economic exploitation and not geography, right? and good for you knowing these things. but most americans aren’t keyed into all this at all
