I just don’t know how to not ruminate about the fact that my country is running fucking death camps. There were ICE raids in neighborhoods in my city, neighborhoods that my students lived in (before they made it impossible to teach and be trans).
The government of my state is absolutely failing. I advocated for a child in foster care for a while - when I found messages between her and an adult man and tried to get anyone to do anything about it, they suggested that I might be sexually abusing her myself.
Everything is backwards. Skill and merit don’t matter anymore, while they pretend they’re getting rid of “DEI” - which in effective means they’d rather have an unqualified white guy than the most qualified POC or queer person.
I just don’t get it. Why is the world so fucking evil?
I can’t answer why, but it’s a fact: we live in a world where evil exists, and has won the fight against “good” a long, long time ago. Every proof of the opposite is propaganda. In 2026, no matter who you are, where you are or what your status in life is, having zero conscience and doing whatever the fuck you want is rewarded, not punished.
In light of all this, I would ‘join the other side’, so to speak, but I cannot. My fucking conscience won’t let me. I’ve wished I didn’t have one repeatedly but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
