I begged my admin to do something about my boy students sexually harassing my girl students. Instead, my some of my boy students discovered I was trans and outed me.

What about what I wrote made that come across as a choice? I haven’t had time to clean the puke that’s been festering in my bathroom for weeks. I don’t have time to do the dishes. I work and work and work, and it is killing me. I would have loved to have had the time to stand in line and vote, if just for the break.
Odessa, Texas has bounties. Trans person uses the “wrong” bathroom, they can be sued for 10k by any private citizen. Also a misdemeanor crime.
Nex Benedict was jumped and murdered in a high school bathroom in Oklahoma, and the murder was covered up with cooperation between the Owasso PD and the state board of education.
Many states have already invalidated trans licenses. My state has legally defined me back to female. My drivers license says male. That could probably get me sent to jail.
Republicans don’t view their female children as human.
As a trans man who experienced sexual violence and domestic violence, “why did you let him do that to you?” And I’m persona non grata. My husband who took advantage of my state making it legal to fire me for being trans (and losing all access to independent finances) - he would be more welcome with my dads family than I am.
My step-mom’s brother-in-law who got picked up by a police officer posing as a thirteen year old with drugs - that was just a little mistake.
Republicans don’t view AFAB people as people.
I didn’t vote because the lack of domestic violence protections in my state mean that I have been working 7 am - 9 pm every day for the past two weeks. I live in Oklahoma, so voting is pissing in the ocean. There’s a good chance I’ll be murdered or arrested for existing in the next year!
It is about the judges. That’s the invisible damage that has been there. The judges that have stalled court cases on bathroom bills, the judges who don’t enforce industry regulations, down the the arbitrator who gave everything to my husband because I’m a trans man.
Dr George Tiller came to mind immediately. As well as Operation Rescue’s bombings.
I’m not a NAVY SEAL/have military experience, but my understanding is that was team project, and claiming sole credit is a bit disrespectful.
Fascism is always homoerotic. It’s more about power - you can top other (lesser) men, you just can’t be emasculated by bottoming.
Touch screens also seem like they would be easier to integrate with subscription services. Auto manufacturers are looking to make things like heated seats a subscription.
Cars have been getting steadily worse. There doesn’t seem to be any enforcement of recalls (has anyone satisfactorily had the Honda Civic 2016-2021 air conditioning resolved? How much did you spend?)
If they can take cars away from us entirely, and move to us renting self driving cars, that’s what they would really want to do. Pay for your radio, pay for heat and AC…
His appointees from the last go round are already still fucking things up. If you’ve tried to interact with the legal system or any regulatory agency, there basically is none. For everything from DHS to FOIA, the government is and has not functioning in many southern states.
My personal head canon is that Jesus was a transgender man (no Y chromosome). The “this is my Son, in whom I am well pleased” marks when God finally accepts his Son’s gender identity, and lets him start his ministry (and hooks him up with HRT).
He could still be intersex AFAB. PCOS/CAH are both extremely common and you can end up with a clitoris that looks pretty close to a peen0r. Admittedly, that doesn’t make the circumscision part that much better - but well realistic, it’s gotta have happened at some point.
Yeah - the more I look into it, the less sympathetic I am. There’s a lot of good reasons to have regulations for wildlife. A lot of “common sense” is just wrong (like the “mother birds abandon babies because of human scent”), and sometimes that gets animals killed unnecessarily. Folks assume because they know how to deal with a cat or a dog that squirrels and raccoons will be similar - they aren’t.
Legitimate wildlife rescues with ambassador animals don’t typically present them as pets. An animal being unreleasable is a fail state. A legitimate rescue will be trying to make the most out of a bad situation. When I’ve talked to keepers or watched vids online, they understand it as tragic that the animal will not be able to live its life independently - the fact that they can make money because people like getting to see cute animals is just trying to get something good out of it.
Squirrels aren’t domestic. They aren’t supposed to live with us.
[I’m not a wildlife expert, but I’ve shoveled shit as a volunteer at lots of different types of refuges and have chatted with many of the types of folks who run these places]
A wildlife rehabilitator (Nessie) on TikTok pointed out that his squirrel and his raccoon would not have had access to veterinary care (ie, vaccination for rabies).
She also pointed out that showcasing wildlife in social media is currently unregulated - in person exhibitions requiring an expensive license to get. This is a bit of a loophole, and what that guy did is likely to get that loophole closed up, and impact sanctuaries that do operate within the current law while using social media platforms to fundraise.
Also, personally, the way he showcased the animals just seemed inappropriate - squirrels eating human food just seems problematic. Iirc he ran a domestic rescue, not a wildlife rescue, which is a different skill set. Wildlife rescuers avoid interacting with animals as much as possible. Animals aren’t toys and don’t have the same kinds of needs we do, and the fact they are cute shouldn’t complicate our emotions.
I might not leave the country, but I’ll have to leave my state. I wonder if next Friday after work I’ll need to load up everything I can fit in my car and drive as far north as possible. It’s terrifying that my rights as a transgender human vanish will vanish overnight where I live. I’ve heard of bounties in Odessa.
Knowing that most of the people I live and work around are happily voting for a child rapist has broken my brain. The folks protesting at the Planned Parenthood (abortion is already illegal here) are going to vote for a man that’s probably paid for multiple abortions. It’s a sickness I can’t fathom.
In Oklahoma, you don’t even need a religion. Not wanting to employ trans people is a valid reason to be fired. I have lost garbage DAY LABOR gigs for being trans.
They also made it illegal to be a trans teacher, and no federal agency seems at all interested in looking into it. I’m surprised this woman has been able to get a lawsuit off - I’ve been looking for someone to take mine for three years!
She’s a wealthy heiress yes, but her parents did use their wealth to send her to a teenage torture facility. As a survivor of a similar facility, the fact that she is speaking up about those hellholes and might help get them closed down makes her absolutely amazing.
How can I trust my government?
As a trans man, my state strips more rights from me everyday. I can be discriminated against in housing or employment. With a recent executive order, I could be arrested for having the “wrong” letter on my drivers license. The federal government is doing NOTHING to keep LGBT folks in southern states safe.
Fuck, in Oklahoma, a transgender child was murdered and the state government was allowed to cover it up! They can kill us and there will be no consequences.
Nixon did the same during the Vietnam war. He just wasn’t public about it. Same with Reagan during the hostage crisis.
There are no rules if there is an “R” next to your name.
There’s a serious problem where the majority of grocery market supplements do not contain the substances they claim to contain. There is no monitoring.
