I’m pretty sure, that if you aired a show called Larry the Cable Guys’ Black Face Space Race… Black people would not be the majority viewer
Even as a woman who spent a few years offended by drag as a transmisogynistic caricature (I learned more and got over it and myself, though I’ll admit some queens do get pretty misogynistic), it’s not even close to the same.
Like, to start with it’s not appropriate to compare misogyny in America to anti black racism at all. But secondly, one of the primary components of blackface is that it came from those seeking to deny black people rights. Drag performers generally believe women deserve equal rights, even the ones who personally dislike us.
