There’s a huge contradiction here when you say that the black panthers who feed and clothe people in their communities and call for positive change that benefits everyone are a terrorist organization and white nationalists organizations go unscrutinized year after year until they are running around the streets shooting people execution style with state backing…words matter and that sounds like government koolaid to me

The Black Panthers (in their various incarnations) are an armed organization that actively uses the threat of gun violence to keep The Enemy at bay. That is literally a terrorist organization.

Does that mean they don’t do good? Of course not. Just like plenty of organized crime groups have historically been the only people looking out for the community.

But it is very much a balancing act to control public opinion so that people support and defend their local gunmen rather than turn them in so that they can stop living in terror. The Troubles in Ireland are a “great” example of how rapidly this can shift once a cold war goes hot, as it were.

So no. This is only a “contradiction” if you don’t understand that words have meaning and that meaning isn’t based on how happy you are.

You can engage in discourse without resorting to condescension. You weaken your arguments.

If the only way you can be convinced by an argument is if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy then… you are pretty much what The Algorithm has made you. Maybe work on that. Or keep tone policing. Up to you.

But hey, I’ll keep in mind the importance of making you and others feel good when I… literally respond to what someone said.
