Land Of Lakes is the only company on the list I’m (or was) a customer of, so they got this note from me today:

Been a proud Land O Lakes customer for over thirty years. Butter’s very important in my household. My mother, an elder with advanced dementia, may have literally had her life saved by the power of butter and apple juice loosening her impacted bowels and allowing her to return from the brink of death. I’ve been so grateful to butter, and to Land O Lakes specifically, for the overwhelming majority of my life.

So I do not say lightly that as of today, for the first time, I will be seeking alternative products for my butter needs.

The audacity of your CEO, Beth Ford, to sign an open letter in Minnesota calling for a return to business as usual the day after an American citizen was murdered in the street is just beyond appalling. A general strike is the last step before violent insurgency, and instead of encouraging it and ensuring the people of the United States that freedom and life are more important than money and power, she chooses to take your company in the opposite direction and seek a return to work? Do you WANT us to start shooting each other in the streets?

If Land O Lakes wants my business back, and the business of several thousand customers across this country, it will do the right thing and JOIN the strike, shutting down operations in Minnesota until the ICE agent who shot someone on the ground ten times in the back is sitting in a Minnesota jail cell.

It would be prudent to do so before I discover that competing brands of butter are as good or better than your product after all.

P.S. Notice is hereby given that you do NOT own all rights to a damned thing I said here, you are granted a NON-exclusive license to reprint or respond. Pretty disgusting that you would require that box to be checked just to receive correspondence. That’s the SECOND thing I found out about you today that gives me pause in terms of doing business with you.
