He’s a senator now. Still he doesn’t inspire me. He needs to stop accepting AIPAC, stop working for the donor class, start representing California values.
Most people do the same. While it is technically correct that congressman applies to both houses, it’s generally understood that if you’re referring to a member of the senate they’re referred to as a senator rather than as a congressman and that therefore if you say “congressman” you’re implicitly not referring to a member of the senate but a member of the house of representatives.
Where? Not the education I got! That was NEVER the case. I think this is stupid people using language wrong and the rest of us going along with it for no good reason at all.
It is infuriating to see how many people think the legislative branch is divided into Senate and Congress. Or worse, how many people think the 3 branches of government are “the President, Congress, and Senate.”
I’ve said that for the last 10 years. We need to kind of poll test to prove that the voter actually knows what they’re voting for, but historically they’ve only been used to further suppress votes against minorities, because who’s going to make the test? Those in power currently, which means they’ll craft it in such a way to disenfranchise as many of the other team as possible.
At this point though, I truly believe the benefit outweighs the risk, and we just need to be careful to make this test. You shouldn’t have as much power as me in how our country runs if you don’t even know your ass from your elbow.
This weird correction over Congress is the weirdest bit of brain rot I’ve ever seen. I keep seeing this. Did people go to school?! Congress is the house and the senate!
Democratic Congressmen are all pussies. Have a spine. I know they won’t because they’re complicit.

He needs to retire.
“Congressman” is a generic term that covers people in both houses of Congress.
Huh, I usually call house of reps Congress members and refer to senators as senator.
Also since Schiff only recently ascended from the house of reps to the Senate, wanted to clarify his current role.

The Senate is also Congress…

That’s why Trump loves the poorly educated. America has the dumbest, least informed general public in any first world country, I really believe that.
It’s getting to a point where we can’t have a democracy if these people are a part of it, though.
Like if you won’t do your civic duty then… you shouldn’t matter. You enslave yourself with that thinking.
