Reddit or social media in general should be the last thing we switch, simply because we need to reach as many people as possible. If we give that up too early, the movement dies instantly. You cannot convince people to switch if they can’t even see your posts. 640 updoots.

No. We can easily leave. As soon as reddit begins to feel empty and Lemmy begins to feel crowded, people will follow. Staying on Reddit would keep people on reddit.

Also, anyone should actually leave reddit asap. It is too much of a political echo chamber for both parties +since recently is also too bot-crowded. It is doomed to be dead and is already a perfect example of Dead Internet Theory.

Create an EU PieFed instance, good slate of communities, good moderators, etc, & then MAKE it the EU reddit-alternative, through making it be where people WANT to be.

( the whole “oh, it doesn’t exist yet, therefore we have to just remain doing what we are doing” is idiotic:

MAKE change, as Ghandi instructed. )

the defeatist attitude drives me crazy

No unless europe can develop local social media that aren’t a barron wasteland so they can actually convince people to make the switch.

    and it’s getting upvotes
