i live near a hill. sometimes my phone rings, sometimes it doesn’t. sometimes it takes 6 hours for a text to arrive, sometimes immediately, sometimes it get lost in the packet routing tumble dryer.
Tbh people not asking (particularly discord calls for some reason) bugs me. Like I need a second to get into the right headspace for it and I don’t like being surprised by a call
This is pretty close to being the new standard etiquette, and I’m all for it.
If you wanna talk for an hour, sure. If you want to avoid a paper trail, absolutely not.
If you are one of the people that asks this, please add the reason for the call.
I mean, of course you call me, any time day or night. My phone won’t ring and I definitely won’t answer, but you do you and call call call all you want, sweetie! How’s your mama doing?

I usually respond in paragraph form and then as they’re typing a reply, I panic and ghost them for another day.
I ask to call even if the other side is one that never going to and will call with another no. after I save their no.
Funny… in my experience, the people who ask are the people who don’t have to. They are always welcome because they understand.
