Yea but Garak has personality and personality goes a long way.
The title of this isn’t great when DS9 also has terrorist who are heroes, fighting against that fascist regime. It goes out of its way to show that terrorism is a tool, not a condemnation. It’s not the most precise tool, and it’s not the first you should reach for, but it is there. However, when the state commits these acts it isn’t considered terrorism, so Dukat likely wouldn’t be considered a terrorist, at least not while he was performing those actions.
pulaski seems alot more competent and logical than beverly, who had some wierd fetishes as part of her character. thats why she and data get along so well.
Well, they are fictional characters. We don’t like/dislike them for things they do to other fictional characters, but for how entertaining they are.
People are going to like a fun evil character more than an annoying good character.
People like Dukat more than Polaski, and I’m pretty sure, by the end of DS9, he was actually the devil. That’s what you get for being mean to Data
The woman of course.
Waiting for Captain Janeway to enter the chat…
May be an unpopular opinion, but I found Pulaski much more interesting than Crusher. Pulaski brought conflict and dynamic into an at that time kinda sterile interpersonal situation among the characters. She could have developed into such a good foil both for Picard and Data. Also, Pulaski already showed an arc as she became friendlier and more open towards Data over the course of the season while Crusher stayed mostly stale for the rest of the show.
Crusher felt likr she had very little to her character. She rarely causes conflicts or takes sides beyond the “responsible physician” or “mom”, meanwhile Pulaski felt like she had a level of characterization that Crusher didn’t. She’s a science officer and a skeptic, a rough around the edges healer who will get involved in your moral dilemma. At the start I disliked her, and at the start of season 3 I wanted her back.
pulaski was more logical, scientific, than bevery, who is very emotional as far as characther goes, and he makes her irrational. lets not get stated with all the wierd epsiodes with her, the candle ghost sex, her own "personal universe(which is most like an episode about psyche).
PULaskis, Doctor seems to mesh well with DATA than crusher with data.
Yeah she was dope.
Yeah but crusher had better hair
Pulaski is such a dick.
AH but my dear friend, who told a better story?
Bran the broken?
put me in sickbay and give me a choice of Pulaski / crusher / holodoc - Pulaski ever fuckin time.

IDK, Picard went FAAAAR away to avoid having her replace his heart, and ended up with her anyway.
I’ll take my chances with the holodoc
Picard just didn’t want the rest of the crew knowing that he had a mechanical heart. It was pure fucking vanity.
The reason she ended up doing it anyway is because she was the only one who was expert enough to actually fix his heart. They had to warp 9 her ass to where he was being worked on and almost had to leave Geordie in the hands a bunch of wackadoo morons with an inferiority complex in order to get her there in time.

oh shit I forgot that was the Pakled episode. Rofl.

good point

picard’s kinda a wuss so…
My guy got where he was by fighting naussicans in bars over Dom jot.
you could say he phasered around and found out.
still kinda a wuss.
I’ll take your notes on bravery once you get stabbed in the heart in a barfight, thanks
pfft I’ll take notes on your intelligence when you can sort out fictional characters from reality, thanks.
One character had several seasons to explore concepts like loyalty to the wrong people, warcrimes, PTSD, regrets. Made the character deep and interesting.
The other character had a handful of episodes to explore prejudice, and stubborn preconceptions, which made the character interesting… But the conflict was essentially resolved after and she only was around for one season.
I sometimes forget Dr Pelauski is even a thing, and then I watch a season two episode and I’m like “oh right!”
Maybe for most ST fans it is because one of the characters was well-written and the other one was garbage.
The problem with the writing on Pulaski’s character was that they were reaching for a gruff and blunt demeanor similar to Bones from the original Star Trek. They failed spectacular at that. And I think the only reason that Pulaski has the limited fandom that she does is because Muldaur is an incredible actress.
Fair.
she tried to have Data dismantled and she was unlikable about it
That wasn’t her. That was also a guy not a woman. The only woman in that particular story was the judge who is determining whether or not data was a sentient being and could refuse to go with that guy.
yes, it was her.
she supported that prick and urged for Data to be dissembled. perhaps she later had a change of heart, but that doesnt mean i trust her.
POLAski, dint get a fair chance, they just had her for 1 season only. i think shes more competent than beverly, but because mcfadden was doing something behind the scenes to get herself back on the show, and have it center her later on.
