President Trump fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and said GOP Sen. Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma would replace her.
Noem “will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida,” Trump posted on social media. “I thank Kristi for her service at ‘Homeland.’”
Noem is the first cabinet secretary to leave the Trump administration in the second term. The announcement comes after Noem spent two days being grilled by lawmakers in Congress over her leadership.
That’s not fired, that’s reappointed to a new position.
When the second word of the title is wrong, well get it right, people are misinterpreting this right now.
The new position is made up and has no authority, so I think “fired” is not totally wrong.

He has whatever authority the Supreme Court and Congress decide he has.
Congress already declared he didn’t have the right to do that without their approval.
And yet they haven’t done anything in response or removed him from office for ignoring them numerous times.
