Does the United States have a spending problem? Obviously, but I really wanted to talk about how the cost of living crisis is presenting itself in your community. That relates to this article because you can’t squeeze blood from a stone. If all of you have no disposable income, no savings, and a job market that can’t support your current cost of living… What happens if you lose your job? Do you default on loan obligations along with America because we are stretched to the edge. Should we vote in members of congress to pass more tax breaks for private jets? Are mods whack? Let me know in the comments.

If you’re talking about your “Vote like you will be competing against me for $16 an hour jobs.” post getting removed, it’s because this community only allows links to articles. It’s the first rule listed. If you want to self-post try something like !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world instead. You can check the modlog for moderation actions taken on comments and posts btw (on the webui there’s a link at the bottom of the page)

fair enough. I’d argue that news articles really fail to capture some of the real politics and worthwhile discussions. There’s a reason why the rightwing media bought up all the local news agencies.

So do you want to answer the question or just avoid it? Specifically, which government do you simp for…. Like the mods…

So, to be clear…… which government do you simp for? Like, what country?

Because simping for the theory of a perfect society is fine, but that’s not what I’m talking about.

Well I sure do like it here in the USA. I feel like our government could be better at wealth distribution, education, regulations, and democracy. but the people don’t want that. I see nothing wrong with our system, but unfortunately we have about 200 million people that vote but lack civic education. I felt very comfortable traveling through Japan. You could feel the order and safety in the country, like everywhere. I feel like irelands government did pretty well for its people. I don’t feel comfortable simping for someone else’s government because I can only experience mind as a citizen ya know? I enjoy living in my little US democracy even if it’s broken. I just keep encouraging people to fix it.

I was a fan of Biden actually, I know that’s a controversial take on here. I thought he was a good US president. A lot of people don’t think he was a good president because they don’t understand that a president doesn’t make laws.

He was OK, as far as administrations go, but his last year of insistance on running, dipping out kinda late, and then pardoning his son (and others) really left a bad taste in my mouth.

No… congress made the laws to ship the bombs. They created the money to facilitate the transfer.

Remember when all us kind people wanted to send F-16s to Ukraine and it never happened. Your congressman loves sending guns to Israel. I bet you won’t vote them out this year. I bet you’re too dumb.
