Where are the outraged Christians trying to take their religion back?
There is nothing to “take back.” True followers of Christ see through these extremists in government as easily as they see through a some snake-worshipping Christian cult. Christians have always known there will be many that will pervert the truth, so they are not surprised. The problem is people like you just assume they are sitting around endorsing this behavior the media makes it seem all Chritians endorse this behavior, but the challenge is the same as always: true Christians do not have the wealth and power to control political/religious messaging around the world. It kind of goes against some key points in their theology.
Sorry, my original comment is a bit accusatory. I did not mean to say you (specifically) are the problem. I intended to say that more level-headed Christians are not what you see portrayed in media because it’s the absolute psychos that are in positions of power, so that’s what you (general) see in the media.
Nope. It might be easy not to notice how badly yall push yourselves onto people and children because you think you mean well but its still bad behavior and harming people.
Yes. yes it’s you. I am not painting you with a brush. “The Media” is not making you (“Level Headed Christians™”) look bad.
Very few people are saying “all christians”. There are plenty of people who are both christian an standing against this… for example Bishop Budde who more or less called trump out to his face. An most the people who can be construed as saying that usually have some good points as to why.
It’s unsurprising christofascim crops up because Jesus himself was rather fascist. I know. you’re probably hissing at me like I just sprouted horns and a forked tongue an snake eyes, maybe a heart-spade tail, even.
But it’s true. Yeah. Jesus said “treat your neighbor as yourself”, but “neighbor” meant something different to him. It was more like “kin”, or maybe “clan”. And the law of Moses that Jesus explicitly endorsed has always made a distinction between Israelite and everybody else.
But Jesus also said the written law of moses is to remain in place until all time. And yeah. That’s the kind of legal code that expressly permits slavery, forces young women (girls, probably) who were raped to marry their rapists, commands the slaughering of ~60% of women on the nights of their wedding because god doesn’t understand biology, and stoning of disobedient children.
the peace and love stuff is reserved for the “right” people.
For what it’s worth, i was referring to Jesus being okay with genocide.
(if he’s really god and really still, you know, not worm food,) The only reason Jesus wasn’t a white supremacist was that he wasn’t white. he was also, basically, what we’d call a religious fundamentalist today- he advocated to a return to the written law of moses in comparison to the pharisee’s adherence to the oral law (“tradition of the elders”). Which, the oral law eased certain things.
But yeah. the OT is replete with all sorts of awful and abhorrent things.
You don’t even need to go there. the simple fact that trump and Kegseth and the others still draw breath while doing this shit in his name suggests something. Either that god is not all powerful, that god is oblivious (and not all knowning); either of these two lead to it being not-god… or that god approves, and therefore evil.

Do the level-headed Christians do anything about the non-level-headed Christians?
Cause that’s what ACAB is about

You don’t get to excuse yourself just because you think your version of Christianity is the right and they’re not truly Christian.
They’re using your god to commit genocide. And frankly, if your god is real, he’s probably cool with it.
Also? The persecution complex you’re rocking is tiresome. You’re not being persecuted so quit it.
I would never claim to be persecuted, but you specifically seem to paint with a broad brush.
This you?

He’s definitely cool with it. All one needs to do is read the Old Testament.
