      Once you realize conservatives don’t actually believe in anything, and everything they say is a performative virtue signal, the world starts to make a lot more sense.

        I disagree. They do have beliefs. Those beliefs are their manufactured moral superiority, their honor culture, and the belief in hierarchy. Anything that aligns with placing themselves first at the head of the line and keeping anyone who doesn’t conform beneath them. Anything can be excused as long as keeps them in control, any rationalization made, anyone outside of those beliefs can be sacrificed as incidental damage.

        Even as a child, I was confused by “Support Our Troops” because if you want to support them, why are you sending them to die on the other side of the planet? If you want to support them, why are so many veterans being denied Healthcare?

        My dad is a veteran with service related hearing loss, and getting anything from the VA is like trying to grab the sun. I’ve heard so many stories from vets trying to get their various injuries just looked at.

        “support our troops” was always just a canned line to make idiots feel good about sending others to die for the rich.
