BERLIN — German political leaders have reacted with alarm to U.S. President Donald Trump’s bombshell announcement that his administration will conduct peace negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the head of European leaders.
The Germans are big babies crying about nothing. If Putin had trouble defeating Ukraine, how will Russia defeat NATO?
The Germans just want the US to stop asking them to pay for NATO membership, as Trump now expects all allies to pay their share for NATO military spending. They’re using Putin as an excuse to weasel out of rising costs. If they can’t afford it, they should tell the US that they want to leave NATO.
Americans need to STFU about this. We know who you are now. USA has no honour and if push came to shove we know god damn well you won’t have our backs. The US has become a greedy country that doesn’t care about anything other than money. There is no honour in the American leadership and there’s no honour in the people that swallow their propaganda.
I have two family members who have PTSD from Afghanistan. The only reason they were there was because the US, our ally, was attacked on 9/11. We’re the people that honour alliances with blood, while greedy Americans only talk about money. You should be ashamed of what you’ve become.
Sorry about your family. Empires often wage wars which other countries would avoid. I didn’t tell Europe to join NATO and become a collection of American vassal states. I was born long after it’d happened.
I agree that American leadership has always prioritized money. Our oligarchs continue to create poverty and misery at home and around the world. Elon Musk even did a Nazi salute on TV. It’s beyond my control.
Still, the Russians didn’t start the Ukraine civil war. NATO did. They armed the far right in Ukraine and helped them carry out a coup. This resulted in the end of Ukraine’s democracy and a civil war. NATO backed one side, Russia reluctantly backed the other. Finally, the Russia-backed side decided to be annexed into Russia and then Russia entered directly to end the conflict.
The NATO-backed side has pleaded with NATO to intervene and fight Russia and they’ve found out the hard way how merciless the empire is. The empire has used these people to do damage to Russia and does not care about winning. They just want to use Ukraine to hurt Russia. The empire uses people. Go figure. If the devil offers you a job, don’t take it.
Mate, who is not “paying enough” for NATO? What does that even mean?
Well, NATO is largely subsidized by the USA, so now Trump is trying to have the USA pay less and other countries pay more. What it means is countries paying military expenditures that were previously provided for by the USA.
