There are two fairly active communities with almost identical topics:
The community on ml is named “crows” but its scope includes “crows, ravens, and other corvids”.
Taking into account the community names, overlapping topics, instance size, and other issues with ml, might we consider consolidating towards sopuli.xyz?
Support moving to sopuli.xyz
Paging !crows@lemmy.ml moderator @Mechanismatic@lemmy.ml. I think I messaged you a few days ago, but I’m not sure if it federated.
Would you be open to consolidating this community with !corvids@sopuli.xyz?
Also paging recent contributors @I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world, @Morph9@lemmy.zip, @NightCreature@lemmy.world, and @Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone for their thoughts.
I am neutral and will post wherever is most active
Thanks for your input!
I would just like to note that using the algorithm of “posting wherever is most active” will usually result in consolidating to the largest instance, which is not ideal for the health of the fediverse as a whole.
While true, nobody really wants to post to a dead community either, you know? Sort of a self-perpetuating problem.
True, though sometimes all it takes to grow a community is one or two users posting consistently. And in this case, both communities have a similar level of activity.
Not sure if you’ve seen this yet. We would appreciate your input.
Multiple people have now pinged you in this thread. We would be interested in hearing your perspective on this.
Paging !corvids@sopuli.xyz moderator @johan_kontant@sopuli.xyz.
How would you feel about a potential influx of posters and commenters? Would you be open to adding Mechanismatic to the mod team?
Also paging recent contributor @cm0002@lemmy.world for their thoughts.
I support any comm moving off .ml due to their ongoing behavior
Here’s the thing…
/c/Jackdaw - The all in one Crow, Raven and Corvid community
lol at people still remembering this :D
What is it? I’m missing that reference 😄
Do a web search for “jackdaw is a crow”. 😉
Yup, lets move it all to sopuli.xyz.
Seems like the !crows@lemmy.ml isn’t interested
Ah that’s too bad 😭
