If you appreciate what brahaj has done, or have any comments on how this Lemmy instance shaped your Lemmy experience positively please leave your comments here.

I noticed how there has been some negatives geared towards how blahaj moderates, this even resulted in certain communities being “moved” to other instances and then recreated, on blahaj due to the community of users being against the decision.

if you have anything positive to say about Lemmy.blahaj.zone shaped your Lemmy experience even without being directly on the instance, this is a place to let people know.

i deleted my world account back when some of the active posters in 196 started pushing for a move to that instance. i have precious little free time to burn on the internet. on world i was wasting that time with “just asking questions guy” or maintaining a block list of accounts who’s say “I support that in concept BUT this real world human actually existing is too far!”. it was facebook without ads and brought zero value to my life, so i left lemmy. very relieved to see the 196 community chose to stay here. this instance is the only reason i decided to give lemmy another go.

@ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone does a fantastic job of moderating, and it constantly amazes me that she manages to keep her cool (and calms me down when I get riled up too!).

Thanks for being the moderator to my sysadmin, babe. I couldn’t do it without you.

Ada does an incredible job being polite and fair while not tolerating any nastiness towards trans people and dealing with some really scummy people. I’m incredibly impressed with her capacity to deal with drama BS and stay sane. She honestly is a role model all admins should look up to.

Everytime I’m not on blahaj, I feel like the world is burning around me. It’s like "what the hell are these people saying, where am I?? " and then I see some other instance behind their usernames. blahaj.zone really is home for me

Ada does an excellent job cultivating this space and supakaity somehow keeps the whole thing running. I don’t know if I could deal with half the shit they do

I’m personally impressed by Ada’s moderator skills - it’s not easy to deal with people, but she makes it look easy …

I appreciate a no-bullshit approach to moderating users. This is an instance that doesn’t allow assholes or transphobes. I like that.

I’ve been a relatively vocal supporter of the instance, even when I haven’t fully agreed with every decision.

Why? Because I know too many people that need a place like this. I know too many people that use blahaj, and it’s the only place they have they can count on as a shelter against the storm.

    For me, that’s what matters.

Same. I may not agree with every decision. Sometimes it even frustrates me a little.

But I just appreciate we have a place that plays it safe. A place where the priority is not on applying complex rules or anything. The priority is just making a safe space. Blahaj for many people is literally the ONE single place they don’t have to watch their backs and deal with bigoted BS. I love that this is and always has been the priority.

      I respect that very much.

        Exactly!

I keep saying it so that maybe the folks that doubt the benefits of the way things are run; but out in meat space, people I know rely on blahaj as their island. Not everyone I know, but enough that it amazed me to hear people talking about it without lemmy in general being brought up by me.

There aren’t many places like that, online or off, and it’s so beautiful that it’s here.

Its the only major instance that hasn’t been dominated by transphobes and bigots and most of that is due to Adas incredible moderation style

Back when the mod team of c/Ghazi decided to leave Reddit and moved to Blahaj.Zone’s Lemmy, the strict moderation was one of the reasons we did so: Vocal minorities can far too easily spoil the enjoyment for everybody else. A tight moderation is the only way to prevent that from happening and personally I am glad to be a part of Blahaj.Zone

Thanks to Ada, Supakaity, all the mods of the communities on Blahaj.Zone and everybody else around here for making it such a unique site!

I’m just a vanilla cishet male who isn’t part of Blahaj’s target audience. Regardless, it makes me happy that folks have such a positive, overwhelmingly supportive community. Simply knowing that it exists makes me feel good. You’re wonderful!
