Yeah, I’ve never been to 4chan, but think a greentext is a specific type of 4chan post (with a green background) where the poster shares some story from their life, often starting with the phrase “be me”. Apparently there’s an oft-used catchphrase response “Fake and gay”, often followed up with reasoning like “Fake: nobody wears flares any more. Gay: op is clearly lusting after his homies.”
Like I say, I’ve never been there and this might all be very incorrect.
How right you are, and how wrong I am. The clues were there for me to pick up, like it’s in the name, and I’ve only seen hundreds of screenshots of it and i can’t quite believe I thought this for so long without even the slightest logical thought or questioning of the reasoning. Doh!
