When you have to deal with insane assholes, especially narcissists, you just talk with a calm voice, while ignoring them and doing whatever you want. They can’t process it because they can only see drama and you get what you want before they figure it out.
They are being limp dicks alright, still talking of compromise and not escalating. How do you compromise with crazy?
