Thought project superpowers was a fun read, reslly like the idea of modern writers/artists bringing now public domain superheroes back to life
(only a few of the MANY are pictured here.
This is fantastic!
Are there more you say?
Hydro Man. Saw the covers in some book as a kid, created a bunch of adventures based on the concept
I’m just glad that there aren’t TOO many women!
Eww, no you can’t have women being superheros! They’re just supposed to stand around shouting “hayelp! hayelp!” and being rescued by the burly chap in the improbable costume. Surely everybody knows that?
For the avoidance of doubt, this is very much /s
There were actually a lot from this era, just not in the picture I found off reddit when googling lol
top tier designs lol
I’m sorry, she keep the auxiliary fuel tank where?
I love that the sidekick is always a less manly and smaller version of the main hero.
It’s like a lot of superheros get their powers from rawdogging their pet twink.
Lol venture bros had a pedophile superman type that this reminds me off
My kid was supposed to bring in objects for show and tell that started with tw- and tr- and after casting about for a minute I thought of sending her in with a TWink with a dumpTRuck ass, and I think the internet has broken my mind.
Anybody seen Austin McConnell’s cinematic universe of public domain characters? It’s at least partially on his YouTube channel. Here.
The public domain super group was a fun idea
Yeah I wish ppl would utilize them more as background characters at least, would be cool to see different takes on superverses using them
Tim no one is more dangerous and so powerful than the mighty Tim
I actually really like the simple black/gold with skull and crossbones for Black Terror and Tim.
There are those who call me…Tim
🎶 SKYMAN AHHH!🎶
🎵 Fighter of the Groundman! AHHHH! 🎵
Not pictured, but it’s definitely Micro-Face.
Good news: your character has a new comic book.
The (not really) legendary superhero Micro-Face is revived by the (not really) legendary publisher NPR Planet Money
Give us a few moments to explain. Suffice it to say, you can order the character’s revival The Myserterious Micro-Face #1, written by Alex Segura, penciled by fan-favorite artist Jamal Igle, with a main cover and character redesign from legendary veteran Jerry Ordway, colored by Ellie Wright, and lettered by Taylor Esposito right now.

NPR Planet Money has done these things a number of times. Like, they go out and start a tiny record label and publish a song, or buys some oil as an investment, shorts stock, or whatever. Then they do a story on it and explain how the economics involved work.

EDIT: And here are the relevant eight podcasts for their creation of the comic book:

I choose… Tim.
With zero prior knowledge :
The green man & domino, because I love a homemade-looking vigilante costume and Black terror & Tim because I thought of that for some reason
Superheroes from the “what if the sideshow weightlifter was also a vigilante?” phase of the industry
Black Terror…and his sidekick, Tim.
That’s quite a pairing.
Some people call him… Tim.
Amazing! I recognize a few from my Marvel history book even. The drawings are so great, who did them?? I want to say Alex Ross, but I don’t think it’s him?
O no, these are all amazing, the names, the dorky costumes! I think personally it’s gonna be Lady Satan for me but The Face “Mr. Face” and “Black Terror and Tim” are amazing as well.
Power Man & Sub-Zero Man!
Magno & Davey because their powers only activates when they dock with eachother. Their origin story is wild
…
dock? 🤨
As their shirt logo demonstrates. Here’s the plot twist though: Magno is circumcised.
