Wow, right out loud in the open. I wonder if they’ll make it a slogan, like MAGA. “Go home or talk to Noem!”

    God, this world is bleak.

To make American great again implies one of two things.

        1. It needs to get worse before it gets better.
        2. It currently is not, or was not great.

It clearly implies that America was once great.

It does not imply that America has to get any worse.

Anyway, that’s all moot. It’s really all just racist dog whistling.

I keep seeing people on the right say, “No one has a sense of humor anymore.” There’s nothing wrong with my sense of humor. This shit isn’t funny. You have to have the mental maturity of a twelve year-old to find it funny.

I have been to the United States a handful of times.

The two things that went through my head each time:

My odds of getting shot just went up.

No matter what, don’t get injured, and if you do, get your ass back to Canada.

That’s the undercurrent of uneasiness I experienced before Trump.

Now the United States has the Gestapo snatching people off the streets.

I do not want to go there again, and would advise anyone to stay away from the United States.

I live on the other side of the world, so my chances of going to the US are much lower than yours. Nonetheless, I have always maintained the same opinion.

It is not worth going to the United States. If I say the wrong thing or step in the wrong place, I’ll be shot or sued or both, probably in that order. And if I’m injured, I’ll be financially ruined.

If my employer wishes me to go to France or Switzerland or Japan, who they do business with regularly, I will be willing to go. But if they ask me to go to the United States, who they also do business with, I will refuse even at risk of losing my job, which I like very much. I believe it is one of the most dangerous “civilised”, “western” countries now, at least to outsiders.

People really do be having the most wild and stereotyped views of other countries, it’s quite funny to see

A combination of two things. First, after losing a previous bid to Qatar, the USA started arresting FIFA members for corruption. Second, FIFA recently expanded the tournament to need more stadiums and the USA is one of few countries that can host at a low cost.
