Welcome to Dan Rolls — where luck meets legend, and silver doesn’t stand a chance. Armed with a microscope, a dream, and a horseshoe lodged firmly up his ass (medically confirmed), Dan hunts Canadian coin rolls like a man possessed. Expect silver, sass, swearing, and savage luck that’ll make even seasoned stackers cry into their clad. Educational? Kinda. Entertaining? Always. Stay for the finds, the dad jokes, and the occasional existential rant about 1968 dimes. Pull up a roll, grab a drink, and let’s make history—one coin at a time. Silver trembles when Dan Rolls.

Dan rolls is part of the Canadian coin collecting community. He regularly does live streams on youtube showing him coin hunting (opening up rolls of coins from the bank in hopes of finding rare coins) and metal detecting around Canada, in I believe the Niagara region of Ontario.

You can talk to Dan as well as other passionate coin collectors in the very friendly and active canadian coin collectors discord! You can find their subreddit and the discord link at r/CanadianCoins. Foreign coin collectors are allowed into the discord – a significant number of the community is actually foreign!

Stay on Topic: Posts must be relevant to Canadian content creators or Canada in general. A video does not need to be made by a Canadian, so long as it prominently features Canada as a topic in the video.
French and English are welcomed: We accept and encourage both official languages. French is super cool. Feel free to post or comment in either language, regardless of the OG post’s language.
Content creator promotions: Promotion of the same channel is limited to once a week. The channel must either be Canadian, or the content being shared must feature a Canadian topic prominently in the video. Self-Promos are permitted within this rules as well.
Posting Etiquette: The post title MUST include the original video title and the name of the person/entity who published the video. The post must also include a direct link (when possible) of where to watch the video. If you are sharing a channel in general, please include a brief sentence explaining the channel in the title, and elaborate further in the body text. This is very much a show and tell community, don’t just show, tell too!

The No Rules

No Memes: No memes, specifically image macro posts. Memes in the comments ARE allowed though.
No Political Posts: This community is not the correct place for political discussion. There are better communities on lemmy.ca for that kind of posts that also accept video posts. LGBTQ+ content, in of itself, is not political. For videos that are in a political grey zone, mods reserve the right to use their own discretion.
No Pornographic content: No NSFW content. Adult topics are allowed if they are on topic, but adult imagery with the intention of being erotic is not allowed.
No Video Game content: Video gaming content is its entirely own pillar of video content creation, that there are other communities more conductive to hosting those posts, such as !canadiangaming@lemmy.ca .
No doing stuff that makes me need to make more rules: Moderation reserves the right to take action on anything seen as detrimental to the community. Just because it is not explicitly banned, does not mean it is neccesarily allowed.
