“Gains in South America and Europe more than compensated for the expected declines in China and North America,” said Marco Schubert, member of the extended VW Group Management Board.
In Germany, Volkswagen is a market leader with almost every second new electric car registered in Germany in the first half of the year from the company.
Noooooooo! Demand for electric vehicles is falling! Companies are cutting back on production! Gas and ooooooiiiiilllllllll!!!
Maybe if I’m very very good they’ll bring the electric GTI to the states.
Electric what now?
Didn’t know what I was missing.
Grand Touring Injection, but now it injects electricity!
European EVs doing well in EU. Headlines so far this year has been surge of Chinese EVs in EU, but EU doing better.
It was just charging infrastructure and reasonable range designs that were needed all along?! Who could’ve seen that coming.
The prices are just off the walls these days though. I want a california but will not spend 85k on it. Same with the ID7 tourer.
Can you turn off the phoning home yet?
Just like with phones, all you need to do is remove the battery
Better, you can replace it with the open source OVMS
From what I’m seeing only the vw eUP has any traction in the ovms forums. Are there other places discussing and implementing ovms on cars I.e. the ID. Buzz?
I really hope their EVs don’t turn out to be internal combustion with fudged testing capabilities. ;)
LOL
I want an electric micro van so bad 😔 but I hate the look of the the buzz. And I’ve lived out of a VW before.
Just put me more forward in the cockpit plz
I think the buzz looks kinda cool, but the range is terrible from what I recall.
If its anything like my ID4, 400km in 70km or less braking traffic, and like 250km on the highway. Even less if it is raining.
I can’t imagine taking the buzz on a road trip if it is like that…
There are kits and companies that convert old VW T4 and such into electric vehicles.
You looked at the Berlingo? A lot cheaper…
I just and an eGolf with a decent range.
We test droveithe buzz. Very nice van, but I can’t see paying that price.
I wonder how much of these sales would have gone to tesla if it didn’t have a well know ceo voicing his dodgy political views. I’m not saying Tesla and Volkswagen are similar quality for a similar price, but in the end they are competing for the same customers; it’s obvious Tesla’s decline in sales in because of Musk since it’s basically still the same cars on offer, but how much of these lost sales ended up at Volkswagen is what I’d like to know.
