minus-squarerealitista@lemmy.todaylinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5arrow-down1·8 months agoPlease let me sync my entire music library locally to my phone Plex!
minus-squareTurboLag@lemmings.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down2·8 months agoYou don’t need Plex for that. A simple local music player will do just fine if you always want your whole library stored locally.
minus-squarerealitista@lemmy.todaylinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2arrow-down1·8 months agoI want it locally on my phone and my computer and both synced with smart playlists.
minus-squareJustEnoughDucks@feddit.nllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4arrow-down1·8 months agoYou could use Syncthing (and syncthing-fork on android), but I don’t know how playlists are stored, but you can potentially sync that too.
minus-squarerealitista@lemmy.todaylinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·8 months agoIs the Plex music library in a standard file system format that can be accessed locally on iOS?
minus-squareTurboLag@lemmings.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·8 months agoNo. I’m not aware of a good way to sync music to the built-in iOS player; you have to go through iTunes.
minus-squareJustEnoughDucks@feddit.nllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3arrow-down1·8 months agoNo, apple forces you into their services and the cloud. Self-hosting is practically not an option with iOS, or at least a much worse experience.
minus-squareashzilla@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·8 months agoCan’t you already do that with Plexamp?
minus-squarerealitista@lemmy.todaylinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·8 months agoNope. It would be perfect if you could, but you have to select individual playlists which doesn’t work if you want auto updating smart playlists based on your entire library. I think there’s also some overall max amount of songs you can have.
minus-squareashzilla@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·8 months agoOh ok fair enough, I don’t use playlists and didn’t know there was a max, haven’t run into it yet
