A man was dragged from his car by enraged bystanders and shot after he plowed a vehicle into a crowd in Los Angeles, leaving seven people critically injured and at least 23 others hurt outside a nightclub early Saturday morning, police said.

Cameras in the area are still being canvassed, but the incident appears to have been intentional, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Two law enforcement sources familiar with the situation said the suspect was kicked out of the venue for being intoxicated and disruptive.

Police said they arrested the driver, Fernando Ramirez, 29, who was charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently hospitalized and has not been booked into jail, the LAPD said. His condition was not immediately known.

Alcohol is legal while pot isn’t. And I can’t have refills on my sons perscription, or fill it more than 3 days early because someone might “abuse” it. Not supporting an action, just pointing out the absurdity.

I think I need a note signed by the president to pick up my kids adhd meds early due to a vacation. The pharmacists at my place are good though, they don’t judge or anything, they just can’t do things the computer says no to.

Not sure what your son takes but when it comes to people freaking out on alcohol, some prescriptions like Xanax have a tendency to make people act worse. I think it’s because people get intoxicated quicker and their brains are like where the fuck am I so they have a tendency to freak out easier. Kind of like a bad trip I guess. I imagine Xanax, Meth, and Alcohol put your odds of something shitty happening at around 1 in 5.

But on the other hand, it’s dumb that you should struggle to pick up medications. Most of our medical field needs to be re-assessed.

        Adhd stims.
I don’t mind them requiring a perscription, but all the extra crap is really just gatekeeping from the people who need the meds.
And yeah, mix just about any med with alcohol and you can abuse it (alcohol generally increases speed of absorption). So the dissonance of it being legal while many other things are illegal is only stronger.

Xanax and alcohol are both GABA positive allosteric modulators; taking them together greatly strengthens the effects of both

Xanax is pure death… Kills your mentality slowly but steadily. At least out of my perspective. Fuck doctors who give that to people 😢 lost some good friends to that shit.

Sgt. Travis Ward said the driver was shot after the collision, transported to the hospital and taken into surgery. For that reason, he said, police were unable to determine whether he was intoxicated.

Nah. They could have requested a warrant for a blood test while he was in the hospital if they wanted to.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooter to get in touch.

I’m ready to come forward. It was Elon Musk.

I can back up this statement. It was Elon by my own eyes. He said he hated Mexicans and shot the guy.

So a man injured several people in a mass attack with a deadly weapon, then bystanders rushed in to stop the man by using another deadly weapon. I’m sure the conservatives won’t have any problem with this, since this is exactly what they say should be done in that scenario.

They only like ‘other’ people to be attached by deadly weapons. They will at best, be indifferent because they themselves weren’t being attacked.

They didn’t dig it when the Black Panthers started arming themselves.

Using a car as a weapon is disturbingly, horrifically romanticized in the minds of a certain subset of Americans.

Regardless of the driver being shot, I’m actually glad there’s a headline of someone driving into a crowd getting pulled out of their car and getting their ass beat. Fuckwads like that need to know they’re gonna get fucked up real bad if they try that shit.

Yes it is. We shouldn’t go back to lynch mobs. My city nearly beat a man to death in a case of mistaken identity.

Don’t do revenge kills, hit em, make them unconscious, pin them down, but don’t revenge kill. It just makes everything worse. Especially for the revenge-killer; there’s a reason why most kill themself after such an act.

Fair, but shooting at someone is always at the risk of killing that person and therefore should only be allowed in absolute last resort.

At least, that is my opinion.
