How does this make them look even mildly competent? They disclosed war plans to an unknown third party by using unsanctioned communication tools. They got lucky it was a reporter who thought he was being baited rather than a more malicious and intentioned actor.
Driving Under the Influence; short hand for a drunk driving charge.
The poll seems to cover Democrats and “Democrat-leaning independents,” so not the DNC.
Exit: can’t find the actual post on Morning Consult yet, but the article features an image where they specify the polled population.
The trick for anything is time and consistency. Choose two or three things from this list and plan when you will devote a few hours each week. During your “practice” time, find and use learning resources online.
Some of these ideas are also shorter-term kind of forming things (like avoid brain rot, touch more grass), so I would also dedicate time weekly to think of/plan concrete changes in your life to accomplish them. Rotate through the list until the habit is fully formed.
Thank you! Any time this kind of polling shows up on Lemmy, users seem to think this is the Plan of the Democratic Leadership Cabal, rather than an incredibly premature name recognition test.
People want to vote for people they have favorable impressions of who they also think others will vote for. Without other frontrunners, who emerge over time, it’s not surprising that polled Democrats would recognize and still support the candidate that 75 million people voted for five months ago.
If you want other candidates (I do), identify them and figure out how to help them build their profile now.
I liked the episode! I thought they did Rhuidean well, for both Rand and Moiraine. I’ll also be curious to see how certain Mat moments end up being adapted later…
I’m with you. I’m enjoying the current season, after feeling that parts of the early seasons were a little rough. I think the vision is starting to become clearer, and some of the characters are starting to feel how they’re supposed to.
I am sure that every genocide in history was said by the aggressors to be “provoked.” Cool motive, still genocide.

All the tired puns or jokes about Nazis/Hitler. “Anne Frankly, I did Nazi that coming!” “You gotta hand it to Hitler, at least he killed Hitler.” Etc.
It’s the kind of thing you might chuckle at once, but so many comment threads end up piled with the same brain rot nonsense as people trip over themselves to parrot their quirky internet catchphrases.
They bear the burden, and while they attempt to satisfy it we will plug our ears and shout nananananananananana.
For the reasons listed in the post the commenter was replying to: people don’t engage as much with the material or with each other.
I’m a little hazier on this. When Perrin frees Gaul from the cage, he tells him that He Who Comes With the Dawn is going to Tear. My best guess is that Gaul gathered up some others as he went east, and they were poking around. No idea why they attacked the Stone on the same night Rand did, though.
No, it’s a weird fluke but in The Dragon Reborn (#3) he ends up in Tear at the same time as some Aiel, and they take the Stone the same night Rand takes Callandor. After, in the Shadow Rising (#4), Rand goes to the waste and all the fun stuff after happens.
An aging population base is not good for the future. Your “logic” is severely limited if you’re not considering the need for stable tax revenues to provide services, or the need for sufficient caregivers to aid elderly.
Edit: These are “forward thinking” concerns brought up by the comment you’re replying to.
I thought these were the best three episodes they’ve produced for the show so far. A little rushed in places, and a few things to make a book purist cringe, but ultimately the characters feel more like who they “should be,” and I think it’s finally becoming clear how they’re going to speedrun some of the plot threads.
Plus the cinematography in episode 1’s opening scene was really fun.
I am really excited and optimistic for the rest of the season. I was on board for the previous seasons but not exactly excited, if that makes sense.
Yeah, and Biden was old. Even before his obvious deterioration, there was always a chance he wouldn’t make it through the term and Kamala would have to step up. If you voted for Biden in the primaries and were NOT ready for a potential future of a Harris presidency, I don’t know what you were thinking.
You’re getting down voted on your top level comment, but I wanted to take a second to say I appreciate your back and forth here. I’m more inclined to call this incompetence, but your point that other motives and agendas could be at play is well taken.
