The response said “no CSAM”.
If they had to scratch their heads trying to figure out what parts of the game needed to change to not include allusions to that, then they have bigger problems than not releasing on Steam.

The game company seems to have thought that they could drum up sales on other platforms by making this a media thing. Based on the additional platforms pulling out, it might have backfired. They could have let their little horse-porn game quietly release on every platform but Steam and made enough to get by. Instead they drew attention to themselves.

This is false.
They submitted to steam, who asked for a preliminary build of the game (one would assume due to concerns about the content). The build provided included a small child reading a naked man like a horse.
Steam denied the game based on the inclusion of CSAM, and advised the devs directly of this decision in what the devs call “an automated email”, as if steam is out there personally hand writing rejection letters for every failed game out there.
The devs claim to have changed the scene, but it seems that Steam has a zero-tolerance policy on games that feature CSAM. And, I mean, Fair.

The marketing campaign for this game that no one will care about in 6 months continues…

We share Olivia’s desire to keep live music accessible and ensure fans have the best access to affordable tickets.
While we can’t require other marketplaces to honour artists’ resale preferences
“We really want to keep music affordable and accessible. Unfortunately, the resale marketplace that we designed and profit from is totally out of our control, otherwise we’d totally make music affordable like we wish we could”
Fuck off and die

According to the article:
Both groups were told to continue a reduced-calorie diet and an exercise plan.
Was this self-reported or monitored by the researchers? The drug suppresses appetite, but unless you build the habits needed to maintain your new body shape, there’s little to stop that appetite from ruining you on the other end. I say this as an obese man who is trying to form these habits again after failing to maintain them.
17.5% of participants didn’t gain significant weight after stopping, and only 4% continues to lose weight. I wonder if these are our numbers for honest participants…

The stylisation of the title lends itself to pulp-adventure stories, as if an old-timey radio announcer was about to tell you what happened “Last Time on… THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU!”.
The poster that this logo is on looks like a grey mush.
They don’t know what they want this movie to be. It is going to be mush.
As a kid I picked up VIII before VII (thanks to demo discs) and it has always been my favourite FF game despite its predecessor’s huge shadow. Learning all of the quirks of the games systems felt really rewarding, though I can understand why it didn’t appeal to many.

It really feels like some important piece of information is missing from this article. The whole thing is just the dramatised opinions of the guy who’s game got banned, and it’s clear that he thinks very highly of himself:
And while Horses won’t be launching on consoles due to porting costs, Pietro says the console makers who’ve seen Horses have said they’d be “happy to have the game on [their] platform”
“We had multiple publishers actively coming to us,” explains Pietro, “and be like, ‘Hey, we want to make this game.’”
Looking at the game trailer and stills, I do not believe that this game was the talk of console-town or a publishing darling. It’s a rough as hell indie game about abusing humans with intentionally sexual imagery (I don’t believe him when he says the game is not sexual either, the trailer features people dressed as horses, followed by a shot of real-life horses fucking). If the game was so beloved by consoles, you would think that the “world’s best indie studio” could scrape together a few investors to pay for porting. Their other games have console releases. Where’s the love for the horse themed snuff game on Switch 2?
This is a misleading article implying that the poor devs have had their game ripped from them:
And nearly 18 months on, the studio still isn’t certain what triggered the ban.
Except Valve explained in their response:
we found that this title features themes, imagery, or descriptions that we won’t distribute. Regardless of a developer’s intentions with their product, we will not distribute content that appears, in our judgment, to depict sexual conduct involving a minor. While every product submitted is unique, if your product features this representation—even in a subtle way that could be defined as a ‘grey area’—it will be rejected by Steam.
Your game crossed lines that Valve has decided are too far for them. You changed the girl into a woman in later builds, but the application YOU submitted showed that there was consideration made in putting a small child into your horse-bdsm-murder game in a sexually suggestive manner. Valve cannot confirm that the rest of your game isn’t going to steer back in that direction, and has made a choice based on the information they have. They do not owe every dev a personalised response when their game is banned for exploiting minors.
The game is going to be on GoG, Epic, Humble, and Itch.io. This dev is chucking a public tanty because he’s not allowed on Steam. This is 100% just a marketing ploy to drum up sympathy and push sales on other storefronts. No doubt a future trailer will contain the phrase “The game that was too scary for Steam is now available on Epic!” or some such.

The idea that a company can grow meat by just adding a few carbs and vitamins to a flask of cells is ridiculous.
Right now it is. The attention these projects are getting is intended to pique the interest of people who can help fund research into making the process more efficient and affordable.

I barely have misgivings about meat as it is. But yes, an animal that is raised on quality feed, and given space to grow before being harvested is always going to be preferable to the industrial levels of farming that capitalism requires to meet demands.

Simpsons did it

But for real, I am super interested in the concept of cultivated meat. I’m no vegan, but if less animals need to be mistreated and murdered for my steak, I’m not going to complain.

I have been wondering where the “Elon paid these accounts” has come from. It does not seem to be reported on anywhere from a cursory search, but it’s being attached to this story like gospel. As if the actual story isn’t horrifying enough.
It really makes it evident that people are vulnerable to manipulation by social media regardless of their political standing.

I was going to make a joke about needing to buy a $1000 iphone every 6 months to save the economy, but then I went to the apple site to make sure I wasn’t being hyperbolic…
Christ on a fucking cracker! the latest iPhone can cost up to $3,800 in my local currency! Just fucking blow my brains out, the world is cooked. Bury me with my 5 year old phone, it’s still got a few years left in it I reckon.

Are you implying that the economy is not a political issue? Who do you think makes the economic policy in NZ?

Step 3: Verify if both are off
How fucking ridiculous is it that this needs to be a step? If I tell a company to keep its grubby hands out of my shit, that should be final. No need to double check that google didn’t do a little oopsie-woopsie and leave those options on as a little treat for later.
Every other day there is something like this, and I am getting real fucking tired.

I have seen men comment there, get the reminder, and then FLIP THE FUCK OUT. As if every part of the internet should have to put up with them.
A community like that is hard to monitor, and they are pretty chill about people making honest mistakes like coming in from /all. I feel like it’s obvious (or very quickly becomes obvious) which comments are mistakes, and which are butthurt males. They don’t seem to be hostile to the honest mistakes.

The weapon is described as a ‘metal ornament’.
Glad to know our fine defenders of justice and law are unable to peacefully subdue an 87 Year old man with a fucking Christmas decoration in his hands.
“Oh finally! The finale will explain everything that has been going o-“
”It’s a brand new shape”
“… right…”
