I’m with you, I can’t do any of that stuff. I don’t like most social media , the lack of ads and the 3rd party apps was a big factor for me to join.

A good book I read recently described it as a Ferrari motor with bicycle breaks. I think that’s a fair description.
Add remodel or fix up a home to that last quote. I specialize in restoring and preserving old buildings, in the US that’s usually 100+years. Most of our cost is labor but the main material we use is eastern white pine, AKA soft wood, and you can probably guess where that comes from.
I know it’s Tomacco, not sure the episode name.
The term Steisand Effect started because of a picture of her house that she tries to censor. Because she didn’t want it out there, everyone wanted to see the photo.
I feel the same way. I understand the people who say “fuck ‘em”, but I believe in second chances for most things (some of the more extreme crimes and actions are open for debate).
I’m not really sure myself how to break through the brainwashing but I saw an interesting article on here a few days ago about that same topic. I currently can’t remember the title but I’ll do a quick search when I finish my comment.
The gist of the article was, attacking people with facts doesn’t work but asking open ended questions that force the other person to explore why they think a certain thing to be true. My quick take on it is, they need to self reflect and not just feel.
It’s the in the title, Food Network star Anne Burrell. I don’t watch the Food Network so I’m not totally sure who she is but there’s also a picture in the article and she looks familiar.
Yes, because no one else wants it, including: lawmakers, preservationists, and the public. It was a design by committee project that the public had no real say in what it would be or look like. No one liked it when it was finally unveiled.
It was supposed to have info panels on it and the reason it’s so goofy is because that area is designated at a National Landmark so it was designed to comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for preservation.
I don’t mind the sentiment of linking the state with the city but yes, that bridge is a waste of money and only detracts from the space.
Pizza - noun - a dish made typically of flattened bread dough spread with a savory mixture usually including tomatoes and cheese and often other toppings and baked
-Merriam-Webster Dictionary
That’s what I see here, I don’t see the tomatoes specifically but there’s a lot of cheese that might be covering those tomatoes. Even if there are no tomatoes, the definition uses the term “usually” which is not always.
What constitutes a pizza to you?
To be fair, I would be mildly infuriated if I was expecting a pizza with popular toppings and I opened a box to find this.
I didn’t mean to come off as a jerk, I’m just sensitive to the snark that gets thrown around over stupid things like this. I’ve seen those jokey comments about pineapple on pizza turn into personal attacks in real life just because someone was trying to defend a food they think tastes good. Of course the people who did that were “just joking”. Pineapple (or pickles) on pizza isn’t my thing but my girlfriend loves Hawaiian pizza and I’ll happily enjoy the leftovers.
Pickle pizza isn’t my thing but someone likes it, good for them. Move on and let people enjoy things.
I don’t want to disrupt the circle jerk but those are two different models so this is not an apples to apples comparison. This is like comparing someone’s Subaru Outback to a Cadillac Escalade. Those are both SUVs but the Escalade is much bigger than the Outback. I’m not saying that trucks haven’t become giant monstrosities in recent history but this is a misleading post. If you compare a Ford Ranger or Tacoma from 20 years ago, it has gotten larger but it’s still a modest sized pickup truck in 2025.
I am a contractor and drive a pick up for work, it’s big and dumb.
Robin Williams for me. I was at a bar with friends when I found out and just sat in stunned silence for at least a half hour.
He wasn’t a saint but he also wasn’t abusive to anyone as far as I know so I’m curious as to why you say that. Can you please enlighten me?
I thought it was always spelled Raiden, found this on Wikipedia and when the article says “this way” that means with an AI instead of a Y
Raiden’s name was spelled this way in all of the original arcade games and in every game since Mortal Kombat 4. However, the PC and console ports released until Mortal Kombat Trilogy, along with both movies and the TV series, changed the name to “Rayden”, fearing the original spelling would lead to trademark issues from Seibu Kaihatsu’s shoot 'em up game Raiden. Ed Boon personally hated that Acclaim spelled it with a Y.
Needs a Raiden
Doesn’t matter unfortunately, oil companies have the most influence with the people in the room and oil companies make more money on cars. If they make functional public transport, it means less people will use cars as their regular mode of transportation.
People in general want to be included and some even more so when they’re told they’re not allowed in.
It’s easy when it’s a physical space, ropes and security keep the riff raff out. With online spaces, it requires active moderation, mods who are willing to enforce the rules and ban those that violate them.
