It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to this episode of the Climate Town podcast, but as far as I remember they give a very good overview of why “we’re too many people for the planet” is climate misinformation.

No it’s not. It’s maybe grounds for firing, but not doing what your boss says is not treason.
How long do you think doctors get to learn about diseases. It doesn’t seem farfetched for a newly graduated doctor to have only had a 1 hour lecture on a disease, probably split over multiple ones. Plus some self studying. So if they never encountered it in real life afterwards, it doesn’t seem too wrong, does it?
I saw clips of this and thought to post it on Lemmy, but I don’t wanna platform jubilee at all. But yeah it’s fucking crazy how fucking normalized straight up fascism is in today’s world.
It can be both.
In both cases, one could very easily simply say ‘Caesar’ to mean ‘the ruler’ in most cases
It was my understanding that Caesar started to be used as the title for the designated heir, while Augustus was used as the title for the current emperor. Is that not correct? So the current emperor would name their heir Caesar, potentially giving them some co-monarch power, and thereby hopefully create a more stable transition once they die.
I’m an aerospace engineer. Turns out editing a meme on Android is a whole ordeal, so sorry for the shit quality.
Well that’s one interpretation. Another is that even if you are bullied as a child for being odd, sticking out, when you grow older you might figure out that you are perfect just the way you are, and you will find other people like you who appreciate you for who you are. H. C. Andersen was an odd kid, potentially gay as well, but ended up moving to the city and becoming a famous author — so the story reflects his own life. So there is a very positive message in this story that I think is important to share.
May I recommend SpeedCrunch
Official linked in game account commented, so yes, it gives you reach in the algorithm.
To be honest I’m playing LinkedIn games - I like when number go up. My issue is coming with some made up overanalysis to how it defines you as a worker, wrote up in some extremely annoying, verbose post. I guess I just hate how so many people on LinkedIn write long posts with basically no substance because they need to be seen by the algorithm.
But no, compared to straight up deranged people this isn’t so bad. More a hate the game, not the player type situation.
Well the nazis killed way more than 6M people, that figure refers specifically to Jews in the Holocaust. In total it was way more people - but yes, 65M would be on a whole nother level
It’s like nature is telling us to switch to a seafood and the rich only diet.
Well, he’s not the mayor, just someone running for mayor.
I love the handmaid’s tale.
Could California perhaps reign in the LAPD? They are the ones currently beating the crap out of innocent people.
Fair points. As I said, I haven’t listened to it since it released, so I can’t remember exactly how it went. But there is a point that using “overpopulation” to deflect the conversation from other more important topics when it comes to climate change mitigation is an issue. The same thing a lot of people do with nuclear energy. That while there is truth to it, the intentions behind bringing it up is malicious. Not that that is the case in this thread at all.
