I landed and Pop OS and love it.

Don’t try to argue with the lemmy anti-AI crowd, it’s not worth it.
I’m curious what you felt the EU should have done differently.
There’s certainly no revolution happening in Trumpistan, but approval polls are at a record low: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trumps-approval-rating-dips-in-new-poll-what-recent-surveys-show/ar-AA1K2O1k
We shouldn’t delude ourselves that they will wake up from their delusion one day, but also recognize the trend so far.
The internet is frustrating.
I thought this was funny.
His study found that whole grains, when compared to all types of potatoes, were less likely to elevate one’s diabetes risk. White rice, on the other hand, had a stronger association with Type 2 diabetes than either of these foods
I’m also glad the UK demonstrated to everyone why more surveillance isn’t the answer (and I hope they ask what the correct answer could have or should have been).
Yep, happened with my wife’s laptop. Fortunately you just follow the instructions and we had a second laptop but I was still sweating bullets.
I still contend that this sort of task is uniquely positioned to show off LLMs. The idea that they’ll turn into agents that can do real-world tasks remains a fantasy. Despite how impressive this is, they’re losing money and have no real path to profitability.
I’m curious. What would it take to change your mind? I’d like to check in with you in two years to see what you think then.
Devil’s advocate: if the problems were could be solved with relatively simple programming, why aren’t why they solved already?
I first tried Ubuntu then switched to pop os and haven’t looked back. Feels great to be free of MS.
It’s nice to sit down and just write about your week, like talking to an old friend/family member about what’s new. You never know what comes out. I use an old Kindle Scribe that I don’t do anything else with. It sounds like you have privacy concerns?
Iceland had the highest profile result so perhaps it may seem that way, but many countries investigated and prosecuted individuals. In addition, it caused the entire global financial system to redouble AML efforts.
I’m sure the community will find something to hate about this as well, since this isn’t an article about an LLM failing at something.
I know at Lemmy we usually don’t read the article title and sure as hell won’t read the actual article, so I’ll just post this here for everyone: nowhere in the article does it say they are laying people off because of AI. It merely states 9000 people will be laid off, and separately MSFT has invested a lot in AI.
A better reframe: huge tech company shifts focus.
Found the daily LLM denial thread.
Democrats, democratic socialism and socialism are all different things. The Democratic party has different objectives from Democratic socialists. Perhaps it would be helpful to label Democrats as the “center moderate” party, democratic socialists as "left and the Republican party as “fascism”.
I love that the Lemmy crowd thinks people don’t like LLMs.
