Unfortunately it requires vulkan (it says 1.3, but because vulkan is based on extensions so it probably doesn’t require the full 1.3). So if you have the Intel GMA 950 that’s in the motherboard for your Pentium 4 HT is not supported. But I’m confident that an AMD HD 6000 from 2010 with the Mesa driver “terakan” is enough to run it. And theoretically one could implement vulkan even for an HD 2000 from 2007, but it’s an unreasonable effort.
If they made an opengl backend, you would be golden, as the Mesa driver i915 implements opengl 2.1 for the GMA 950, and it’s definitely enough to run an editor
P.s.: and I sure did not spend the last 30 minutes looking up vulkan hardware
Use YouTube revanced. It’s an app that patches the official YouTube apk. Basically you provide the version of the apk it requires (the patcher will tell you), select which patches you want (you can put all of them and disable what you don’t need in the settings later) and if will create a new apk without ads that you can install

1·4 months agoIt’s a supermicro x8dal-i with two xeon x5650 from 2010. 6c/12t each, base frequency 2.33 GHz, turbo to 3.2 GHz single core, 3 DDR3 ports each in two Numa nodes, for a total of 24GB at 2400 MT/s. It only supports PCIe 2.0, for a 1060 3GB.
It’s slow as hell in single thread, it’s acceptable in multi thread. It doesn’t go out of memory. It sounds like a lawnmower. It boots up between 1 min and 6 min. It overheats and shuts down in summer (hence the desk fan and the little fan blowing on the chipset). It chokes that 1060 with its slow PCIe. Lots of sata, only one 128 GB SSD. Most games from before the 2021 run. Overall pretty cool. It has two Intel gigabit Ethernet.
Both windows 10 and Ubuntu are taking a toll on it. But I bet a nice fresh install will fix it. But I won’t do it because it’s not my main kick anymore

I feel like this argument is way too imprecise, to the point of being basically untrue. That’s probably based on the average emissions or something like that, but people are not the same and “emission responsibility” is wildly different.
Imagine killing 34k exploited African people, the world’s climate won’t even notice that. On the other hand, killing 34k middle class Americans or Europeans would probably be a little more effective, but still won’t fix anything. Now, killing 34k high-profile megacorp executives would definitely be much more effective, but would also collapse some economies, leading to various climate unfriendly events (like riots, war and shit).
But the simplest empirical evidence is: COVID killed 6 million people and the climate is still shit.
