I try to name unconnected things until I’m interrupted by a different thought, then when I realize I’ve gone off I play the unconnected naming game again. Doesn’t matter if there is a connection. Apparently this disorganized thinking is similar to sleep thoughts and can help get your brain in the mood for sleeping.

Definitely don’t put grease or oil down the drain if it is solid at room temperature. Even oil that’s liquid at room temperature is bad for sewage systems - they combine with non-biodegradable sewage waste such as wet-wipes (Don’t flush wet wipes down the toilet. Neither of these are popular enough to be on the scale of LoTR, but in terms of atmosphere and detail:

Hollow Knight - my absolute favorite thing about it is each NPC has its own voiced language recorded, babbling in the background as you read the dialogue.

Subnautica (the first one) - shitting myself with each new experience is something I’ll always cherish. Highly recommend just playing without looking into the gameplay or plot. Has elements of exploring, resource gathering, base building, psychological horror (not graphic, just tense scenarios), sneaking.

If only I could play subnautica for the first time again. Such an incredible atmosphere. Another one of my favorites is Hollow Knight.

I think there is nuance here. My understanding is that there is a very small but loud percentage of women that want to exclude men. When DEI (inclusion of less represented individuals) is encouraged, it’s often cut down by “only the most qualified should be hired”, detracting from the core topic which is bias. Most of the discourse around privilege was to help understand that men aren’t actively oppressive, but many are blind to the ways in which they contribute to the oppressive issues due to cultural programming. In parallel to what we’re seeing with protests - inaction is not helpful. Those that are privileged are more likely to be able to change the minds of those that are actively oppressive. TL;DR privilege is just the ability to apply peer pressure.

The host tests his own blood for various types of PFAS and uses online PFAS estimators to help understand that where he was living for ~10 years had higher levels in the water, which tracks to the higher levels seen in his blood. There’s still PFAS in everyday consumer products - anything slippery or waterproof. They also interview someone researching PFAS filtration. Plenty more interesting bits in the video. Worth a watch.

I can’t help but wonder if this is an assignment to “clear the wait list” for if/when Mangione gets convicted? I don’t quite understand the system but it seems many people on death row spend so many years waiting for the bureaucratic processes to complete before their lives are taken.

I don’t think I have borderline personality disorder but this relationship spiraling is definitely a similar pattern. Might be a similar belief of feeling defective in some way and self sabotaging relationships to maintain that believe.

Oh damn, same. What should I search to read more about this? Mentioned to my therapist that this is a pattern of mine but it was tangential to some other stuff so we didn’t end up processing it specifically. Is BPD referring to bipolar or borderline personality disorder?
